If you think about it, Churches, like all religious and many community establishments, have kitchens. From coffee mornings to celebrations to soup kitchens, there are many reasons why a church needs a fully operating kitchen. We recently refurbished the kitchen at St Catherine’s in Birmingham.
Let’s look at the detail.
Here below is the warewashing corner. Awall hung hand wash basin, anambient wall cupboard. A bespoke wall bench with rear corner cut-out and void underfor the undercounter dishwasher. Compact and neat – upstand all round to stop any drips running down the wall. To the right is the rinse sink, with over headspray armfor tidying dishes before they go into the dishwasher.
To the right of the dishwash area is the cooking side. An undercounter ambient cupboard for keeping pans, plates and anything else that might come in useful. Acounter top stand for microwave, a 1/1 GN bain marie on bespoke wall bench also with cut-out to rearand upstand all round. For cooking, a favourite for church kitchens: the 6-ring electric Lincat range under bespoke canopy. An effective and efficient cooking space cooking complete with countertop convection oven on stainless steel wall bench with void under for a single door freezer.
Now for the serving counter– you can see a very long smart and smooth serving counter to service the kitchen:
From operator side it has three parts to it: the left hand side which is undercounter refrigerators and hot cupboards for keeping food and plates warm prior to service.
The third part to the right hand side holds the stainless steel bespoke flap & gate for easy access/egress from the kitchen to front of house.
